Earl Bales Park Ski Area is currently the only operating downtown ski area in Toronto. Since the closure of Centennial Park Ski Area in 2021, which had been in operation for over 50 years, Earl Bales has become Toronto\u2019s go-to winter sports destination. The ski area features a gentle slope for beginners and a main slope with two full-fledged courses. Skiers can access the main slope via a chairlift to the top.<\/p>\n
While the snowfall in Toronto this winter hasn’t been enough to open the ski area, Earl Bales Ski Area is able to maintain operations thanks to its artificial snow system. The park stated, “As long as the temperature remains below -5 degrees Celsius, we can supply enough artificial snow, so there will be no problem operating normally.” This means that even if natural snow is in short supply, visitors can still enjoy skiing and snowboarding without issues.<\/p>\n
The 2025 ski season is scheduled to run until March 16, though operations may vary depending on temperature and weather, so it’s best to check the official website before visiting. The ski resort is currently open from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM on weekdays and from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends. Lift tickets and equipment rentals are available on-site, and season passes are also offered for regular visitors.<\/p>\n
